You mention bypassing the Discovery Alarm Spider, how do I do this?

Between 1994 and 1999 Discoveries where fitted with an Alarm spider, nicknamed as it was a small black box with black wires coming from it. This box was responsible for the immobilisation for certain electrical items and unfortunately is often the cause of ignition misfires etc due to failure.

The alarm spider box can be found behind and slightly lower than the stereo. The easiest way to get to this and to be able to unplug the connector is to remove the stereo and also the centre console surround, allowing you access.

We have placed below a diagram of the 10 pin plug connector plug which needs to be unplugged from the black box and the following connections are to be made to bypass this.

Pin 2 connects to pin 3

Pin 6 connects to pin 10

Pin 8 connects to pin 4
