NG Kit Car

Delivered to us with a very tired 3.5 litre engine which the customer was struggling to setup, I don't think anyone was prepared for the transformation about to happen.

The shopping list
1 x Brand New 4.6 litre long engine
1 x Brand New Borg Warner Tremec T5 Gearbox
And some Rpi attention to detail

The Result – A great all-rounder with huge torque, power when needed and drivability throughout!!

Removal of the old engine and LT77 gearbox was over so very quick. Then we took to installing a dumby engine with the Brand New T5 gearbox so that prop shaft length, gearbox mounts, gear lever position and concentric clutch hydraulic pipes could be worked out and fabricated. Although it sounds a lot to change, there is not a huge difference in location etc but its always best to have these things sorted before final installation.

Then once Holly had finished building the 4.6 litre engine with the fully inspected covers from the old 3.5 (replacements fitted where necessary) the engine and gearbox came together and were bolted in to there freshly painted engine bay.

Once all was done and the engine had a few miles on it to settle everything down a visit to the local rolling road was arranged. Why? Good question, as we never use rolling roads to setup any of our engines however this project came in at around the same time we developed our unique power plenum. Both us and the customer where interested in the potential torque gains of the Weber plenum originally designed for its LPG fuelling ability.
